What if your greatest joy came not from what you achieve but from how you show up, and how you serve others? In Christian Life Coaching, I help my clients embrace God’s will for their lives, to impact the lives of others for His glory. But before you think, “Oh great! One more thing to do.” It’s not just about helping others—it’s about being a vessel for His work in the world and being open to His promptings to love, forgive, and share your gifts.
When you think about your life, have you ever asked: “Am I doing what God created me to do?” If you’ve wrestled with that question, let me tell you—you’re not alone. The good news? The answer lies in shifting your focus. Rather than focus on doing, we’re going to focus on being, from getting to receiving, and in turn sharing or giving.
God’s Call to Serve
Scripture reminds us of our purpose: “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10, NLT).
First, we are God’s masterpiece. Let that sink in. Not because we’ve done anything, but because we exist–because the Creator made us for Himself. Just receive that.
Secondly, we are uniquely designed for good works. These works often manifest as opportunities to serve others, reflecting His love through our actions. These actions come from a stance of unconditional love and encompass everything from a simple smile, a kind word, a generous act of service…
For me, Christian Life Coaching is an extension of this truth. Each coaching session is a chance to listen, guide, and empower women to see their lives through God’s eyes. To understand that God is for them and loves them unconditionally. To see that their life is happening for them, not to them.
The beauty of my calling as a certified Christian Life Coach is that I don’t have to know what my clients should do…because they do! Getting to hold these women in their highest regard, to allow space for them to listen to the Holy Spirit within themselves, is magical.
Christian Life Coaching Helps You Reframe Your Thoughts
Teaching my clients thought awareness plays a crucial role in not only accessing their thoughts but also in learning to serve with purpose. Our thoughts often try to limit us:
- “I’m not good enough to help someone else.”
- “What do I have to offer?”
But science shows us that our brains are changeable—this is the power of neuroplasticity. By intentionally replacing negative thoughts with affirming truths, we literally make new grooves in our brain and new thought pathways. For example:
- Replace “I’m not good enough” with “God equips me to serve with love and wisdom.”
Affirmations rooted in scripture, like “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13, NLT), are powerful tools to renew your mind.
The Power of Prayer in Serving Others
Prayer is the foundation of our service to others. Before a coaching session, I ask God:
- “How can I serve this person today?”
- “Lord, guide my words and my heart.”
Praying for others has the power to shift our focus from ourselves to the person we’re called to serve, the person we’re called to love. It also invites the Holy Spirit to work through us, providing wisdom and compassion we could never muster on our own.
Through prayer, I don’t have to rely on my strength or understanding; I’m inviting the Lord into my work. It’s a reminder that His power is made perfect in my human limits and weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Serving Through Christian Life Coaching: Why It Matters
When I work with clients, my goal isn’t to help them solve problems—it’s to show them how God is working in their lives. Coaching is a sacred space where transformation happens. As my clients learn to examine their thoughts, ask if this is the story they want to keep telling themselves and seek God’s truth, my clients often discover a renewed sense of clarity, direction, and purpose.
Imagine what your life could look like if you received the Father’s love, believed the best, and embraced the call to serve fully. You don’t have to have it all figured out; you just need to start.
