I’ve written before about What Does the Bible Say About Our Thoughts. Honestly, I’ll probably write about it again and again because it’s just that important. I mean, if we don’t know how our Father wants us to think, how can we push back against the lies the world throws at us? This post about the Word of God quotes is an update of an old post written before I was a Certified Christian Life Coach.
I’m so thankful I started learning these principles all those years ago! During my first coach certification class, I felt already at home! I also didn’t have to “learn” how these tools work…I’m living, breathing proof that they work! I experienced them first hand and they transformed my thoughts and my life!
I’ve been there—stuck in a loop of negative, anxious thoughts, wondering if there was any way out. It felt like I was drowning some days. When people ask what I do, one of the things I tell them is, “I help women who feel anxious and overwhelmed on their best days…numb on their worst days, transform their thinking and wake up to the life they want to live, the one the Lord has called them to live!”
When I started learning what the Bible says about our thoughts, it changed everything!
If you spend any time scrolling or binging my blog. you’ll soon find out, this is a topic I can’t let go of! I started sharing this information from the first moment I learned it and started to notice a transformation in my life. Now, as a Certified Christian Life Coach, I’m even more convinced of the power of combining God’s Word with what we now know from science to help women transform their thinking and their lives.
I also firmly believe, when women get healthier and stronger, their marriages get healthier and stronger and their families get healthier and stronger and their churches and communities get healthier and stronger! Do you see why our mental and emotional health is a great big target for the enemy?!?
Bible Quotes About the Power of Your Thoughts
You’ve probably heard it before: “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 ). But let’s pause on that for a second. If our thoughts really shape who we are, doesn’t it make sense that the enemy would target our minds first?
That’s exactly what’s happening. Every day, we’re bombarded with messages that are anything but life-giving. It’s a continual battle that comes from all directions–internal and external. It encompasses everything from anxiety, fear, embarrassment, comparison, shame, guilt, jealousy, and the honest desire to be holy and humble; a false sense of humility.
And the thing about battles? You have a strategy if you’re going to win! You can’t just “hope” it goes away while you’re hiding under the blankets or distracting yourself with endless scrolling or binging. But guess what! The Bible gives us a winning strategy!
The Science Behind Thought Renewal
I remember first reading this concept! Are you ready? Every thought we think creates a pathway in our brain. It’s like carving a trail through a forest—the more we think that thought, the more defined the trail becomes. That’s why it’s so easy to default to negative thinking; those well-worn paths are just… easier.
But here’s the good news: God wired our brains for change–it’s called neuroplasticity. The science of neuroplasticity means we can create new trails—new ways of thinking—when we focus on truth; we focus on thinking new thoughts. It’s not easy (I’m not going to lie to you), but it’s worth it.
I know what I’m talking about! I have lived this! Every anxious, fearful, obsessive thought. I have rewired my brain, and yes, it was hard–I felt like I was literally rewiring my DNA, but it was ALL worth it! And it wasn’t just for me–the Lord brought me through and taught me so I could help you.
The Word of God: A Weapon for Your Thought Life
When I was in the thick of retraining my thoughts, I realized what seemed like a “design flaw”: I couldn’t just stop thinking bad thoughts. I had to replace them with something better. Something stronger. That’s when the Word of God became my anchor.
“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword…” (Hebrews 4:12).
I mean, how incredible is that? God’s Word is living and powerful! It can cut through the lies and help us see the truth. It can close old thought paths and clear away new ones. It can transform our lives, one thought at a time.
When I started memorizing scripture and speaking it over my life, it was like God was carving new trails in my mind—ones filled with hope, peace, and truth.
Bible Quotes About Mind Renewal
Here are some of the Word of God Quotes that helped me the most:
- “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” (Romans 12:2)
- “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
- “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3)
These verses aren’t just nice to read—they’re tools. Write them down, put them on your bathroom mirror, make them your phone background.
Let God’s truth be louder than the lies!
