Welcome to my Book Notes Page. This is a page where I keep a record of the books I’ve read and I share the notes I took while reading them. I always read with a pen and highlighter in hand. I’m not much of a fiction reader–I’ve got enough of my own stuff going on, I don’t need to read about the tangled lives of others. Plus, as a busy wife, momma and writer, my reading time is limited. As with everything here on The Littlest Way, I share my notes because sometimes, I’ll share something you may not have considered while reading and at the same time, hopefully, my sharing will encourage you to share your notes with me. I like the give and take of ideas and impressions we share here. So, grab a highlighter, your favorite pen and notebook and let’s read together.

Confession time…I have too many books. Yes, there can be such thing. You see, I keep buying books, even though I have book after book sitting on my shelf that needs to be read. Another good reason for this Book Notes page, it will encourage me and keep me accountable to read what I have…and I’ve got some great books just sitting on my shelves I can’t wait to dig into. And I have many on my shelves that definitely need a re-read, maybe an annual re-read. You know the ones right? Those dog-eared favorites that we could literally read and re-read the rest of our lives and still find nuggets of gold in the pages.

The other reason for a Book Notes page? I don’t have the means right now for an actual book club. I really don’t have the time between loving my man and raising our 7. I love, I write, I clean, I cook, I homeschool, I drive my people where they need to go–I’m busy. And I know this list is not unusual. As much as I think I would enjoy getting out and participating in a real life, in person book club, first, I’m an introvert so I would change my mind about leaving my house right before every book club meeting. Second, I’m in a season of growing children and it’s good for me to be here. My days are full and my nights have to be guarded carefully. I want to have a virtual book club here at The Littlest Way with you all. That satisfies my need for reading accountability, literary friendship, and being at my home.

So welcome! I hope you enjoy the notes I share and I welcome your thoughts in the comments of the particular book posts.
