Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Pondering…

Listening to…

My own heart. We have been discerning a major decision the past month. Anyone who knew the details was so excited for one of the options…but every time I talked about it or thought about it, I felt sick to my stomach and cried–like a lot. My hesitation makes no rational sense other than to say, a great option doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a great option for you. As a friend told me when I was struggling with this decision, “Go think.” I needed to be quiet to think and listen to myself, to my “knower” and not anyone else’s, in order to be at peace with the decision I was telling myself was the right one.

Reading…

Bible in a Year: Your Daily Encounter with God

This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.

Catholic Journaling Bible and the Inspire Catholic Bible NLT: The Bible for Coloring & Creative Journaling

These are my study and journaling Bibles.

I am reading Mother and Son: The Respect Effect at the suggestion of a friend. This book is wrecking me! If you are a momma of a boy, no matter the age, you need this book! Even if you think you don’t…YOU DO!

* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!

Bible Reading…

Here are a few notes I’ve made recently in my Bible Reading on YouVersion–you should get the app and friend me over there! Here’s how I read the Bible for daily reading, if I think it, I make a note of exactly what I thought. This can get a little funny sometimes.

“But do not give in or listen. Have no pity, and do not spare or protect them.” Deuteronomy 13:8

Firm Boundaries!

“You may do so only at the place the Lord will choose within one of your tribal territories. There you must offer your burnt offerings and do everything I command you.” Deuteronomy 12:14

We can’t just do whatever we want in life, in worship!

“Therefore, be careful to obey every command I am giving you today, so you may have strength to go in and take over the land you are about to enter.” Deuteronomy 11:8

Obedience=strength

Around the House…

Dinner was ready, laundry was caught up, and there were folded towels in the bathroom cabinet–look East my friends! Jesus may be coming soon!

In the Kitchen…

Tonight we had skillet pork chops and onions with Apple Cider Vinegar and barbeque sauce with long grain rice. So yummy! This week is super busy so I’ll be relying on my crockpot–if I remember to put the food in it in the morning! Some days that’s a 50/50 chance!

Self Care

Exercise! Oh my goodness I feel fantastic since I’ve started exercising! I’ve also started drinking an afternoon “cocktail” or “mocktail” I should say. Int he afternoon I mix up a quart jar of
NingXia Red, NingXia Zyng, and NingXia Nitro. It’s a delicious afternoon boost that is good for me!

I’m continuing to learn more and more about essential oils and because of this when my father in law and a friend each mentioned trouble sleeping, I made them some roller bottle blends to help them fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake rested.

(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

The Littlest Way

Still working on updating some old posts, but my son has been using my computer to finish a research report so my computer time has been limited and will continue to be so for the next week probably.

Our Domestic Church…

The Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is coming up this week!

Saving Money…

I don’t know that I’ve done anything intentional here this week? Tell me how you save money.

Remember the Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium and turned the crowd into a murderous mob who stoned Paul and drug him out of the city apparently dead? Remember when the believers stood around him and he got back up and went back into the city? I'm standing with you today. Get back up friend. Let someone know you're standing with them⤵
