Pondering…

I am pondering myself right now. My relationships and how I interact with others. I’m also pondering how good it is to be here–my parish in particular. Through different circumstances I’ve had to visit other parishes the last couple of weeks–one of them being my old parish I left a little over two years ago. I thought it might feel like a homecoming–it did not. It made me miss my true home parish. It felt good today to be “home” in my own parish.

Bible Journaling…

I got a little behind this week on my reading (
Read the Bible in a Year). As I find pockets of time this week I am going to try to catch up–even though I firmly believe I’m not behind. I have been using a couple of resources as I read this past week. The Ignatius Catholic Study Bible: New Testament"" for notes as I read the New Testament readings and since there is not an Old Testament one available yet, the individual ones for the Book of Genesis"" and Exodus"". I’m also using A Practical Commentary on Holy Scripture"". I love this book! It is written for school age children–perfect for me–with nice reflection questions, commentary and explanations.

Around the House…

My washing machine is dead. Thanks be to God and
Dave Ramsey"" we have an emergency fund. Saturday night I transferred money as we walked out the door to go buy a new washing machine. We looked at Lowe’s and Home Depot and went with the one at Lowe’s because it was cheaper. When we went to pay, our debit card was declined because the transfer wasn’t showing up yet…UGH! So our plan was to run in Sunday and pay for the washer so they could deliver it Friday–I know, 5 days of not doing laundry…UGH! I quickly checked to see if I could place the order online and started reading the reviews of the washing machine we had picked out. Almost everyone HATED it…UGH! So now we are researching washing machines. We want a top loader. The washing machine before this one was a front loader and it always smelled.

So, tell me how much you love your top loader–Make and Model–and help us find a great washing machine.

In the Kitchen…

All right, for real I am starting back on
Trim Healthy Mama"". I just feel better–not giving into sugar for one! The price listed in $5 cheaper than when I bought mine last year.

Our Domestic Church…

Tomorrow is the feast of Candlemas. I need to go buy some candles tomorrow to have blessed tomorrow night. We are 70 days away from Easter and 17 days away from Ash Wednesday. Are you praying about your Lent?

Saving Money…

A soccer mom friend signed up for
Ibotta so I will earn $5 the first time she uses it. I price matched at Walmart this weekend when I grocery shopped–

$2 on two bottles of Barbecue Sauce

.42 on six cans of Ranch Beans

$5.52 on 20 cans of soup

Captured…

"Daybook

It’s the craziest thing…this chicken is trying to get our dog’s food–out of her bowl! Our dog kills the chickens so we keep them separated. When the chickens are out, we move the dog to the pasture to the North of our house for the day. The silly chickens will go through the fence and, as you can see, the dog does nothing…nothing! But, if the dog and chickens meet each other on this side of the fence…chicken dinner!
