Daybook Online Journal: Life is Busy

Thanking God for…

::beautiful weather around the farm

::Chris getting lots of items marked off his “To Do” list

::peace about a situation with my grandparents being moved into long term care

::my Uncle leading the way in making these decisions for them

::Bible journaling–it’s a great form of stress release

::grilled burgers

::safe trip to and from double header soccer games out of town

Praying…

I am praying for my grandparents. They have always been my safe place–themselves physically but also their home. My grandma fell and broke her shoulder and will have to be hospitalized for possibly 12 weeks. My grandpa cannot take good enough care of himself alone while she is hospitalized; plus her Alzheimer’s is progressing. For the time they will be together in the extended care wing of their town’s hospital. If and when she becomes a flight risk, they will be moved to a more secure location.

I have been all red-eyed and snotty nosed over this situation these last couple of days; especially when I thought they were going to be separated.

Pondering…

I’m really having to battle some fear right now about my children growing and being out in the world. Some of this is being irrationally fed by too many late nights watching “Dateline” “60 Minutes” and “20/20” before having children when Chris worked nights. Some of it is being fed by scary internet stories too. Advice mommas of older children?

Listening to…

The office heater is cycling off and on in here, while the fireplace is running in the other room.

Do you all who work out of have children who listen to music to get pumped up before a game or practice have some good music suggestions?

Reading…

My NRSV Notetaker’s Bible""

I know these journaling Bible’s that contain all the books of the Bible are getting hard to find. I do have people looking in their area for copies for you all.
