We did it! \u00a0We practiced the spiritual discipline of Bible journaling<\/a>\u00a0using the acronym POWER together for the month of August!<\/a> \u00a0I appreciate every email you all sent with questions, comments or prayer intentions.<\/strong> \u00a0I appreciate every comment you all left here on The Littlest Way; it’s not always easy to share your heart on the world wide web. \u00a0I appreciate the insights you shared as you journaled this month. \u00a0It’s always interesting to read the same passage, but depending on what season you are in right now, it can read very differently…from person to person…or even the same person, different day. \u00a0Anyway, I’m glad we did this together. \u00a0We should do it again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

POWERful Bible Journaling: Psalm 23<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I’m going to deviate from the POWER<\/a> acronym for this last entry in my Bible journaling.<\/a> \u00a0I have a neat story to share.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As part of our “Family School” (we’re homeschoolers) we have memory work, Scripture Memory, Catechism and Prayers.<\/a>\u00a0 Last year one of the Scriptures we memorized was Psalm 23. \u00a0My then six year old boy blew us all away with how quickly and accurately he memorized it. \u00a0One day he wanted to recite it for dad, so I called Chris in from the barn and he sat down to hear Maximilian recite Psalm 23.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Jump forward…or back…I frequently ask my children, “Why do we memorize Scripture?” \u00a0The answers are varied, but one of the reasons is because the Scriptures, the Word of God, can offer us comfort and instruct us in times of need. \u00a0Not only us, but we can use the Word of God to comfort or offer advice to our friends or family.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Back to my story…Chris was very impressed with Maximilian’s recitation for a couple of reasons. \u00a0First, here’s this cute little guy reciting an entire Psalm. \u00a0Second, Chris was going through a trying time at work and to hear his little guy reciting, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me”<\/em> was really and truly comforting to Chris at that very moment.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I pray as my children get older, these verse we have memorized will stick with them. \u00a0I want this treasury of the Word of God for them to fall back on as they navigate life.<\/p>\n
