Welcome to my weekly post, Daybook Online Journal here at The Littlest Way. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook Online Journal, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…

I am praying the prayers I composed for
my prayer journal. In particular this section of this prayer for myself, “Lord make my heart tender, not easily offended yet forgiving when hurt. Teach me how to imitate Your meek and humble heart.” I also prayed for my dear friend Sunday at Mass during the elevation of the Most Precious Blood, “Lord, please cover her wounded heart with Your Most Precious Heart and make it whole.”

Pondering…

I’m pretty sure there is not enough room here to cover all the thoughts rolling around my mind right now. Let me just say this as a result of my ponderings and talking to Chris on Sunday…I’m good with where we are and the decisions we’ve made for our family. Are there areas we could improve on, virtues we need to strive a little harder to attain…sure.
But we cannot let the perfect become the enemy of the good. There are ideals and standards that are just that, “the ideal.” This year, we are getting ready to send a beautiful and sweet young woman, also known as our first baby, out into the world. If we are so strict and rigid in striving for an ideal of perfection based on fear rather than love, she will shoot out of her like a cannonball headed for Hell, with no looking back. But, if we allow her and all of our children (and ourselves as adult parents) some room for growth and discernment–without becoming moral reprobates, not only will our love and faith strengthen, it will shine and attract others.

Listening to…

I’m listening to our
little heater we brought in from the camper to warm the office and laundry room. The fireplace keeps the rest of the house pretty warm, but this area gets a little chilly. I’m listening to my husband and to my Father in the quiet conversations I have with Him in my heart.

Bible Journaling…

If you are not sure where to start, or are afraid of starting in your journaling Bible, I have written frequently on Bible journaling here at The Littlest Way,
Bible Journaling. I have posts showing examples of how I use my journaling Bible and of how I practice the art of Bible journaling without a journaling Bible.

Around the House…

We kept our tree up until and now past the Epiphany and I’m done. A 7.5 foot tree in a living room with 9 people living and moving and breathing just gets to be too much physical and mental clutter. My plan is to have that baby down by tonight.

In the Kitchen…

So I have been really faithful in following the
Trim Healthy Mama eating principals and my blood sugar has been great, my mind has been as good as can be expected for a momma of a large, active family and my moods have been good. One of their suggested (optional) ingredients is collagen. I bought some to add to my smoothies and wow!

So a couple of months ago, and for at least a decent couple of months, my shoulders have been in so much pain. I attribute it to all the years I have spent sleeping and nursing on my side, with my arm up over my head. And all the years I’ve lugged around fat, happy babies and of course the fact that I am apparently now “middle age.” I’ve been adding a scoop of collagen each day to my smoothie and recently I realized, “Those shoulders I thought I was probably going to have to have surgery on because the pain was so bad,” they don’t hurt anymore. The only thing I changed was the addition of collagen. I’m sold! (P.S. I am not a doctor and cannot give medical and nutritional advice. I am a momma who shares things I find and love with my friends.) (P.P.S.Trim Healthy Mama has their own brand, but I linked to the one I use.)

Our Domestic Church…

Lent is coming y’all! And soon!

Saving Money…

Right now as we near the last couple months of house payments and the need to save money to go our grand adventure to reward ourselves for paying off our home in six years, we are tightening any where we can. For example, Sunday the Knights of Columbus had a pancake breakfast after Mass. I’m not sure of the cost per family because Chris always pays, but the fact is it costs money…money we are trying to save…money I just spent at the grocery store a couple of days ago. SO we said no, we’re going to eat at home; those little things really do add up.
