Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Thanking God for…

::restored health, or at least getting there

::Chris’ tireless care for our family

::antibiotics, breathing treatments, cough meds, Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen

::hot baths, Clorox wipes, short ER wait times

::excellent Pediatrician

::time to begin to heal and recover

::green grass

Praying…

I’m totally praying for myself and family. I have just come through a week where I have never been sicker in my entire life. And then to have my children so sick as well and there was literally nothing I could do to help them because I was so sick.

Pondering…

If we can put people in an international space station to live, why can we not come up with a better way to test for flu than an extra-long Q-Tip up the nose until it hits the brain?

Listening to…

the washing machine struggle to swish our extra large quilts

Reading…

nothing

Bible Journaling…

I did get in my new Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling kit–A Heart that Receives. I finally feel good enough today to being opening my mail. I haven’t read or journaled in my Bible this whole time–not even read y’all. I did lay my hand on my Bible the other day for comfort, but that’s it.

Around the House…

You can imagine. We’ve all done the best we can–which has been pretty good considering.

In the Kitchen…

My desire to make something healthy and nutritious verse my ability at this point are two very different things.

Diffusing

Yesterday I put in
Purify and Cleaning. We’ve been applying Respiratory Ease and Fighting Five to the soles of our feet. I put some Lavender on a cotton ball in Luke’s ear to help ease the ear infection pain–yes, ear infection on top of flu.

(You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)

A Great Blog Post

Eight Reasons to Turn Out the Lights During Lent

The Littlest Way

I started a post on my prayer room/war room before I got sick, hopefully I finish it this week.

Saving Money…

The day I went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with flu and was questioning if I could even drive myself back home, my debit card was declined. After assuring the nice ladies at the the Urgent Care desk I had no other way to pay as they started me down in my weakness, I did in fact make it home and called my bank. The good news was, they had detected fraudulent activity on my account so they shut my card down. The bad news was they forgot to call and tell me. Only 2 charges totalling $51 were made before my card was shut down and I should be able to recoupe them as soon as I’m well enough to make it to the bank and sign the necessary papers.

Captured…
