We’re on vacation week over here. So far, we’ve taken all the kids out to dinner plus played old-school arcade games. (Highly recommend !! We all had so much fun!!) We ended the night with ice cream — because obviously. We’ve hit up Scheels with the boys, which included a Ferris wheel ride that had me saying a lot of silent prayers while smiling through the panic. Apparently, I am now afraid of heights! Chris and the boys have gone to the sale barn twice this week to sell cattle, while I’ve spent my time coaching, shopping, and tackling a little deep cleaning.
We’ve genuinely loved every single minute of it! Well… except for one tiny part.
Last night, we…ahem, they had to load Amos Moses, our bull, into the trailer. From my spot in the truck bed, it looked like approximately zero fun; he did not want to be separated from his ladies.
Here’s the thing– this vacation hasn’t been fancy. It hasn’t involved plane tickets or palm trees or five-star hotels. It hasn’t even involved a road trip or an Airbnb, and yet, it’s been everything.
You’ve probably heard that saying, “Create a life you don’t need a vacation from.” And we’ve done that. Not because we quit everything and became independently wealthy (we’re still working on that part ).
But because we’ve done the work—the emotional, mental, and spiritual work necessary to be content in our own skin., in our own home, with our own people, eating our own meals, and sleeping in our own bed. (Not that there’s anything wrong with going somewhere on vacation. I’m making the point we don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy ourselves or feel like we’re being refreshed and renewed.)
And that is the life-changing part.
That’s what I coach women through.
Not just a prettier calendar or a Pinterest-worthy routine — but a whole new way of thinking and being, rewiring their brains, renewing their minds, transforming their lives.
Peace doesn’t come from your circumstances. It doesn’t come from your zip code or your best vacation plans. It comes from within. It comes from learning to renew your mind. From catching thoughts before they spiral. From recognizing what’s weighing you down internally… and choosing a better way. Again, don’t get me wrong — there’s nothing wrong with going somewhere! But what’s the other old saying, “Everywhere you go…you’ll be there.”
If your mind, body, and soul are anxious, frazzled, worn thin, and burned out, even the dreamiest getaway won’t fix it. True rest isn’t just about naps or beaches or time off — it’s about inner peace and stability.
So let me ask you, friend…
Have you created a life you don’t need to escape from?
If that feels impossible right now because your days are filled with overwhelm, dread, mental overload, or just plain exhaustion, I want you to know it is possible.
Not overnight. Not perfectly. But little by little, you can rebuild your inner world…and your outer world will follow.
That’s the journey I coach women through inside the Thought Renewal Blueprint.
Because peace is possible. Even hiding in a truck bed, watching an agitated bull named Amos Moses.
