Description
This Lent Devotional for Women starts, “And so it begins…” I mention these words can be taken a number of ways, for the positive or the negative. And if you’re anything like me during Lent, both.
I always look forward to Lent. I always kind of dread Lent. I like the structure and focus. I struggle with the structure and focus. I always want to do better, be better, do more, and be more. I always realize how weak and unstable I actually am.
Lent is good for me.
This year for Lent our Online Bible Study Community is going to be reading, writing, praying, and studying the 7 Penitential Psalms and the Gospel passages that deal with the Passion of Christ. We will be doing this together as a community.
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is when Israel defeats the Amalekites. In the story, Moses stood on a hill overlooking the battlefield. As long as he held the staff in his hand up, the Israelites had the advantage. But when his hand got tired and started to droop, the enemy gained the advantage.
“So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset. 13 As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle.”
+Exodus 17:12
I like to think of our Online Bible Study Community as the rock to sit on and the friends to help hold our arms up.
Even if you’re not able to join our community, this Lent Devotional for Women, with a Scripture Writing Plan and Worksheet will aid and assist you in your Lenten journey. It can still be used as the rock on which to sit and the support you need to keep fighting the good fight.
