You might have gotten here out of curiosity, or maybe you already know this is the place you’ve been looking for! Either way, welcome! I’m so happy you’re here.
Years ago when I started our Online Bible Study Community, I was simply looking for a Catholic Bible Study that I could do and would work with my schedule; meaning around the vocation of wife and mother. Too many Bible studies happened during the morning–I was homeschooling or wrangling toddlers or both! Then there were the evening studies–I was usually scrambling to prepare a somewhat decent meal while juggling the extra-curricula schedules of my children; this usually involved sitting in a car during practices. And forget about weekends!
A Doable Catholic Bible Study
When I say a Bible study I could “do”, I literally mean, “do”. Another issue I found with Catholic Bible Studies was the complexity–I don’t read the Church Fathers, the original Greek or Hebrew texts, or even the Papal Encyclicals; not that there is anything wrong with that! I just don’t have the mental capacity (see the above issues regarding Bible Study) time, and knowledge base.
I need a simple, straightforward Bible Study. I need clear instructions on what to read and when– a reading plan. Left on my own, I spend more time trying to decide what to read than actually reading! And raise your hand if you’ve ever gotten bogged down in some Old Testament Book early enough in the year to just “take a break”…a very long, and extended break from reading your Bible.
I need a Bible study that will engage more parts of my brain and senses–a Scripture writing plan. The power of reading and writing the Word of God help solidify the text in context, but I can also begin to sift out natural and applicable ways to incorporate the text into my daily life.
I also need community–strange for this introvert to say. We were not meant to do this life alone. Remember the explosion of “Mommy Blogs” years ago? We all need the comfort and security of knowing we are not alone on this incredible journey. Recently, as my children have gotten older, I have found it tricky to navigate the ponderings of motherhood online; my stories of motherhood involve mothering my children, who fairly enough, do not want their stories shared, no matter how heavily edited or whitewashed.
Why a Private Membership Community?
Community in real life has been edged out by time, distance, and distraction. When my mother-in-law was raising her children, they went to the local parochial school, attached to the parish Church, usually within a short distance of their home–and this wasn’t even in a big, tightly packed city. For so many of us, that option doesn’t exist and as a result, we’ve lost the village or tribe mentality.
Our lives have become tied to our devices. This isn’t always a terrible thing. Now more than ever, we have the ability to do something as off the wall as become a tight-knit Bible Study Community, prayer partners and warriors, and even digital best friends all because of the internet. And how beautiful it is when digital life and real life collide.
The logistics of friendship may have changed but the need hasn’t. The need for a like-minded community, trusted friendships, and women who will drop to their knees for you and your family is an absolute necessity. And as wives and mothers, the delicate dance of privacy and intentionality must pervade our friendships–this isn’t something that can be found in blog posts or posts on our public social media. Sometimes this is even difficult to find in real life. It’s hard to freely share your own personal struggles knowing that coming Sunday you’ll be sitting in front or behind each other in the pew.
You’ve Got a Friend
Life is hard and short and whether we think so or not, we need each other. Life is also complicated and complex and if something is too hard, it just won’t get done–this includes and maybe especially things like reading our Bible, prayer and spiritual journaling. There are an unlimited number of beautiful sites telling us how to live liturgically, but how about living daily? A daily spiritual life cloaked in stress and overwhelm without the “phone a Catholic friend” option?
What if there was a place where we could share our hearts (without causing scandal or committing calumny)? A place where we can freely say, “Mothering a teen is hard,” without specifics or drama…and the women in your online community understand. They offer prayers and sacrifices for you without the details that you cannot share, knowing it’s not just your story; they pray and respect your family as a whole knowing you do the same for them.
Friends Don’t Let Friends…
Finally, “Friends don’t let friends…” fill in the blank. There is safety in accountability, strength in numbers, and confidence in courageous women standing should to shoulder, heart to heart, and soul to soul with you.
When you join our Online Membership Community you instantly gain access to our private Facebook community–a place to leave prayer requests, ask “What’s for dinner?”, and share our Book Club Book.
Members also gain instant to all our past Bible Studies! The average price of each Bible Study in my shop is $6.95 and there are over 30 already loaded. Imagine having access to download all those studies included in the price of your membership!
And, you can cancel at any time.
My blog houses 850+ past blog posts that are available to anyone. Going forward, I will only be posting new content for members. If you found me through previous blog posts, you definitely don’t want to miss the new ones; I’m older, hopefully wiser, and life has definitely knocked me down a few more times and humbled me. I know less and ask way more questions–always on the search for how to live a more fully, simple, fun, inspiring, Catholic life, that I love.
But Wait! There’s More!
I’m a Certified Christian Life Coach!! Sometimes we might need a little more than a close friend with a “there there dear.” Sometimes we need a trained, critical, objective eye to help us sort through the things of this life; always rooted in the Scriptures and the teachings of Holy Mother Church.
My blog has already served as and been an extension of Life Coaching when I shared what I was learning in counseling all those years ago. My focus will be on what it has already been–taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ. I will teach you, encourage you, and remind you that you are the boss of your thoughts which cause your feelings which direct your actions.
