A lion…I’m going to have to say a big ‘ol mean lion. And don’t even tell me that’s a March thing.
Welcome to my weekly Sunday post, Daybook Online Journal. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. If you blog, please link up below with your Daybook Online Journal post. If you don’t have a blog, no worries, just leave your “post” in the comments. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Thanking God for…
I am thanking God for the wisdom and discernment He has graced Chris with. And that Chris is more of a rational verse emotional (ahem…) creature and listens in those quiet moments. I am thankful for the grace to realize Chris’ listening looks different than mine. Without that grace, I might think he doesn’t listen.
Praying…
I told my spiritual father the other day I couldn’t chase after my children like St. Monica chased St. Augustine; I have too many little ones still around. “Ah, but you can chase them with your prayers.” Well said father, well said.
Pondering…
I am pondering more of our conversation during spiritual direction. We spoke of making Christ the King of our home. And that raising children in a home where Christ is the King gives them a good, solid foundation…but they also have free will…and they also have a loving and merciful Father.

Bible Journaling…
I’ve had some lovely downtime this weekend. I’ve used that time to spend with God reading His Word and Bible journaling on “Trust.” I think many word studies could be considered inexhaustible…trust probably leading the pack. Here’s a page I worked on the other night about God’s love being poured into our hearts. Isn’t that a beautiful thought? (I traced that pitcher, used stamps and my own handwriting, stickers and then watercolors.)
Around the House…
Chris’ schedule is really messing me up…here, not here, here and then gone…This really isn’t his fault, my homemaking skills and schedules should be good enough to withstand crazy life schedules and last minutes changes. Must work on that.
In the Kitchen…
See above. Except for, have I mentioned a time or ten that being off Trim Healthy Mama has not been a good thing for me? Oh I have? Then carry on; I would hate to repeat myself when it comes to my sleep changes, brain fog, and roller coaster like blood sugar.
Our Domestic Church…
I’m posting later on this week about our homeschooling which is an obvious part of our Domestic Church. We read about Lives of The Saints: For Everyday of the Year and do our memory work first thing every morning. Our memory work includes scripture, prayers and catechism questions. Maybe I’ll do a post about our memory work specifically.
Captured…
Our chickens are really laying…like really. We had so many eggs this weekend I made six breakfast casseroles to freeze so I could make room in my refrigerator.

“Chase them with your prayers” Wow I love that!!! Such a beautiful idea.
Those breakfast casseroles look amazing. Plus having pre made breakfasts is so helpful!!

My brother-in-law’s sister (she also has a twin) is in the final stage of her batter with ovarian cancer. Docs say she has a day or so. With seven siblings and a tight knit family, this is hard. Yesterday, when I wanted to know how things were going, I had this question pestering me and so I texted my sister this: “If you could use one word to describe how things are going with Minerva, what would it be?” When I checked my phone 7-8 hours later, the answer popped up right when I looked. It said, “Acceptance.”
My mom and I were talking about the power of that one little word. And other words we felt were at the top such as what you mentioned (trust) and of course peace. Yes, Trust, Acceptance and Peace and maybe in that order too.
Jenny says
Acceptance is trust isn’t? To just rest in knowing we can trust whatever He has in store for us and accept it as all from His merciful hands.
