Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::freedom to do and say
::people who can disagree and remain charitable and respectful (see below for those who can’t)
::V guest playing with another team this weekend and Anna going with us
::Snapchatting Bernadette, my sister, and my niece
::Bernadette teaching me how to use Snapchat
Praying…
Holy Smokes! Literally and figuratively.
Pondering…
Those of you who disagreed with my last Daybook and took the time to let me know how, what, and why I am wrong, let me tell you a few things about myself:
::I absolutely dislike confrontation…but if faced with it, I will not cower.
::I am a Choleric, Introvert, 45 year old who has overcome many struggles…honestly and in all charity, you don’t bother me.
::You will never get back those precious minutes (hopefully it was only minutes) you spent telling me off…for that I am sorry for you.
::We don’t have to agree, but mutual kindness is an absolute…if you are unkind, I will delete your comment before it ever makes it online.
::This is my blog and I have final say on what is kind or not…that’s just the way it goes.
::I never intentionally offend…I always have the intention of speaking God’s truth in all kindness…sometimes I fail and believe me, I confess that failure and resolve to try again.
::I may cry fairly easily…it’s a strength, not a weakness. (*To clarify, comments don’t make me cry. See the part about me being a choleric, intovert…I’m just generally mentioning that fact about myself.)
Listening to…
Anna playing “A Time Forgotten” on the piano and “Heal Our Land” by Kari Jobe.
Reading…
The New Jerusalem Bible, Reader’s Edition
And a little bit of this and that from my reading list.
Bible Journaling…
I need to talk to y’all about that. Once I hit publish on this post today, I think I’m going to close my computer until next week. First, I need to finish writing the next Bible Study and Journal. Second, I’m feeling argumentative and that’s not really like me. Third, and so much more importantly, my heart is so heavy watching our world. There is so much hate at such a new level it can only be described as diabolic–and I’m not one for finding the devil under every rock, but y’all…I have kids. This is the immediate world my older kids are entering?!? This is the world I’m raising my younger ones up in?!? I am so disturbed by the violence and lies. I’m so afraid for anyone in authority from our president–like him or not, no one should have Tweets made calling their assassination–to our local police force just doing a job to support their family.
During this time away, I plan on doing lots of extra Bible journaling. I will still post on Instagram though. I’ve curated a beautiful, calm feed that makes my heart happy.
Around the House…
I’ll also use my time to tackle some deep cleaning inspired my friend Kathyrn Whitaker.
In the Kitchen…
Nothing sounds good.
Diffusing
Purify and Joy mixed together.
A Great Read
Finding Femininity at Its Finest
We are in a spiritual battle right now. Society is challenging women, and the men that support them, to rethink femininity and what it means to be a feminist. It is a conflict that demands increasing courage to face.
We shouldn’t have any consternation though; women are the daughters of the greatest human warrior we will ever know: the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Our Domestic Church…
Thursday is Candlemas Day. Get your candles blessed! And Friday is the Feast of St. Blaise so get your throats blessed!
Saving Money…
If I’m off the computer, I can’t make off budget purchases, so there’s another plus.
My new t-shirt from Catholic T-Shirt Club.

Ugh. I hate people who do that. Sorry you were attacked for stating your opinions. People cannot respect other opinions. It seems like a lot of people have this “Agree with me or you are personally against me ” mentality. It makes me sad. I have been spending less time on my facebook feed and hanging out in groups like Catholic Women Live more.
Also I bought the Catholic Journaling Bible you recommended. I subscribed to their newsletter and within a day or two! they sent an email saying the Bible’s were back in stock and at a lower price temporarily. I bought one then and there on Amazon. Good thing because the price cut only was for 24 hours maybe 48 but not quiet that long. I posted a picture in the Catholic Women Live Group if you are a member there. I am really enjoying it and I am personally hoping MORE companies develop kits etc that are geared towards Catholics because there are people who want this!!!
Take care and I will keep you and family in prayers!!

When our hearts are heavy with the ills of the world, we are like Christ in the garden. He had the weight of the world on his soul, to the point of death. We do well to follow his example and like yours here, retreat and pray.
“In his anguish, he prayed more earnestly.” ~ Luke 22:44 Not forgetting that angels ministered to him. Our guardian angels are with us ~ ministering to us.
And as for our children? Where and when sin abounds, grace all the more. Wow! Consider that. We must teach them about the grace that is available to them. <3

Just want you to know, you’ll be missed. I completely agree with your words about unkindness and I’m glad you are deleting them before they get online. I’m sorry you had to read them though. Diabolic is the right word for the assessment on the hate in the world and from unexpected sources. I also find myself argumentative and unpeaceful. While I don’t blog, I do work on the computer and need to keep custody of my time. Work, then shut down and go to the Word and the Rosary. God’s peace to you and yours. Susan
