Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::watching my children play soccer
::a healthy baby girl born over the weekend to our sweet friends
::finding Fitness Blenders exercise videos on Youtube (This is one of my favorite ones to do. It’s only 10 minutes and I feel so good after these stretches. Chris even did this one with me on Saturday!)
::money for groceries
::I think my shower will finally be tiled this week! It has been torn out since October!
::the whole family plus Chris’ dad and his friend going to the girls JV and Varsity game Thursday night
::my new prayer bracelet system–watch for a post this week about it
Praying…
I’m praying with greater intention and purpose for my children and Chris. I’m praying for a decision I need to make soon. I’m praying for two young men who are friends with our family. This world is tough on families and young people alike. All we can do is keep trying and keep serving–Serviam!
Pondering…
“Good listening gives a person a hallowed place to give voice to the ponderings of the soul. When we pay close attention to another’s words, we are granted the full vision of a heart’s whole story instead of a mere glimpse into a brief message.”
–Elizabeth Foss, Put on Love
Listening to…
Anna play “Oceans.” Saturday afternoon Bernadette texted asked me to record Anna playing “Oceans” on the piano because her “soul needed to hear it.”
Reading…
The New Jerusalem Bible, Reader’s Edition
The new “Free to Flourish” Bible Journaling Kit from Illustrated Faith is available. I believe this one is my favorite so far.
Around the House…
I mixed up a lovely cleaning solution the other day. I used 1c white cleaning vinegar, 2c water and 2-30 drops of “Cleaning” by Edens Garden. I would absolutely let my little guys grab a rag and go clean with this. It smells great and doesn’t contain anything harmful.
Wearing
My new Catholic T-Shirt Club tee. This is my second box and they are definitely “Happy Mail!” This month’s box came with the St. Therese t-shirt, rose scented sacrifice beads and a silver St. Therese medal already on a chain. I was thinking, these boxes would be a great “cheer me up” to order for a friend or a lovely care package for a kiddo far from home.
Me awkwardly modeling my new favorite t-shirt.
Diffusing
I may have found a new favorite, Sunshine Spice. Not only am I diffusing it, this is my new perfume. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)
A Great Blog Post
Since Lent started I have drastically cut my computer and phone time.
The Littlest Way
One year ago I was writing a series of Lenten devotions. Here’s the one for the First Monday in Lent from 2016.
Our Domestic Church…
There are some lovely commerations coming up this week: Sts. Perpetua and Felicity on Monday, St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday, St. John of God on Wednesday, St. Frances of Rome on Thursday and the 40 Holy Martyrs on Friday. Here is a beautiful quote from St. Frances of Rome
Saving Money…
I don’t share my Lenten resolutions as a rule but I will share this one little part. I challenged my sister to a “No Spend Lent.” I also challenged her to a Fitness Blender video a day. Our bodies as well as our material goods are gifts and we need to be good stewards of them, thus the challenge. I needed the reminder that God cares about my body and my spending habits as well as my soul–they are all related.

Hi Jenny, thank you for so much information this month!!! I think I have to get started on the Catholic T-shirt program, and soon so I can also get the St. Therese shirt.
That quote you posted From St. Frances of Rome hit the spot.
God bless 🙂

I’m glad you liked the quote. I wouldn’t say I love these shirts if I didn’t and it is so much fun stalking my mailbox, lol!
