Day 2 of my Catholic Bible Study! How did you enjoy Day 1? I mean it when I say, these are quick and easy to read; not too long, not too hard to understand, just some quick notes and reflections. I have a couple of things I hope happen when you read these. I hope they encourage you to sit down and do your own daily reading. I also hope they help you realize, a Catholic Bible Study doesn’t have to be hard and long.
I think one of the greatest tricks of the enemy to keep us from reading the Word is God is convincing us it needs to be something big, hard, long, deep and reflective and theological and any other “…logical” word there is. It can really be as simple as sitting down and reading every day and scribbling a few random notes–thoughts or reflections you have on the reading.

Genesis 3:1-4:26, Matthew 2:13-3:6, Psalm 2:1-12, Proverbs 1:7-9, Sirach 1:1-10
Really? Did God really say you must not eat any of the fruit in the garden?
Ugh! The enemy is a master at sowing doubt and asking questions that lead to doubt!
“Of course we may eat it,” the woman told him.
DO NOT reason with evil and lies!
…and it would make her so wise!
What is wisdom? Synonyms–insight, common sense, experience, intelligence, knowledge, understanding
Wisdom is a Gift of the Holy Spirit. Can it also be seeing things the way sees them?
…they heard…
Adam and Eve knew the sound of God.
And the Lord God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.
God still provided.
You will be accepted if you respond in the right way. But if you refuse to respond correctly, then watch out! Sin is waiting to attack and destroy you, and you must subdue it.
Response is a reflection of the heart.
That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary his mother, and they stayed there until Herod’s death.
Joseph left immediately. And then Joseph stayed put until the Lord told him to move. Obedience!
Only fools despise wisdom and discipline
In the Old Testament reading, Eve was disobedient trying to gain wisdom, but wisdom without discipline is worthless and maybe even dangerous?
