I come across so many great articles, useful tips, inspiring ideas and beautiful stories in a given week, I thought I’d start sharing some of them here on Saturday’s…or at least this Saturday. It seems every time I say “I’m going to…” life gets interrupted and the first one is the last one. So let’s just enjoy my great finds this Saturday, and hopefully there will be more next week. I’m calling this post, “Here and There” because, well, I found these things, here and there.
Here and There: #1
The Saturday’s of my youth always started with music. Some of them still do, but more often than not I either wake up to a bustling, noisy house–music would be too much. Or I wake up in a quiet house–and I do not dare make a sound in that case. But let’s start today with one of my favorite songs, Overwhelmed by Big Daddy Weave.
With the release of 50 Shades of Grey I thought this to be one of the best posts I read on it. Christian Women and Christian Grey
The smuggled letter written by the now deceased aid worker, Kayla Mueller, is powerful. “Please be patient, give your pain to God.”
The Seton Homeschooling Newsletter had a beautifully written post by Mary Ellen Barrett on what I thought to be some simple yet effective Lenten practices. 5 Ways We Bring Lent Home
These recreated family pictures made Chris and I laugh out loud! Three Brothers Recreate Old Photos to Make Epic Calendar for Mom
China Little Flower is beautiful organization I just learned of from a Danielle Rose song.
Amanda over at Erring on the Side of Love wrote a beautiful post on friendship–On Friendship Let’s See Each Other. Please stop by, read and comment. As a person who struggles with friendships this was a good read. “Friends, let’s be courageous. Let’s meet each other in our joys and our struggles and not be afraid.”
And finally, as a non scrapbooker person with made up allergies to glue and glitter, I got a little crafty with my journaling Bible on Friday. Check out this very short video I posted on Facebook of me reading Philippians 4:8 and showing off my Bible journaling skills. I bought some pretty little cards at Hobby Lobby–now I know them to be Project Life Cards, some washi tape and added them to a page in my Bible. This gave me extra journaling room and some pretty reminders to be grateful. (Maybe I shouldn’t use the words “showing off: when I’m talking about the Bible.)
What did you come across the internet this week that inspired you or made you think? Please share in the comments.

Wanna know something cool? The founders of China Little Flower are my cousin and his wife. I’m super proud of them. 🙂

Wow! You should be super proud of them! I go back and forth between wanting to click all over the site seeing the beautiful mission for these babies and having to close the tab, heartbroken that these little ones were abandoned.

We laughed so hard I cried at those recreated photos! Well at least I didn’t pee myself (the running joke around here these days).
Thanks Jenny. Happy St. Valentine’s Day.

Glad you enjoyed them. I’ll have to decide if I’m too proud to share why we have an inside joke about me peeing myself. Happy St Valentines Day to you Michelle.
