Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::having almost all my children back under the family roof for a week
::getting to spend spring break with Veronica
::Veronica putting the first coats of paint on the bathroom
::laughing with my children
::asking for prayers and people responding
::diffusing cheery essential oils
::letting the sheep and cows out of the pasture and into the yard to walk around–Chis loves it!
::the reminder of Ash Wednesday that I am a sinner who has a Savior
Praying…
I am stuck in grief. You know I lost my grandma in October so there’s that. The other I cannot talk about but let me tell you this, it is probably a more painful grief than losing my grandma. When I start thinking about it or talking about it to my husband or spiritual father, I literally start repeating the words of the Psalms, any Psalm where David talks about being overcome with grief or his soul being crushed.
I’m also praying for a medical appointment I have today for a second opinion. Based on this appointment I may be sent for a biopsy. Prayers are appreciated.
I’m also just praying. There is just always so much and so many people to pray for. A life of constant prayer, especially intercessory prayer could be a full-time job. Thanks be to God for holy religious orders who have taken on this awesome responsibility!
Pondering…
The decisions we make in this life that bring us in closer friendship with Jesus verse the decisions that take us away from Him.
Listening to…
I’ve been listening to Chris and the younger kids tell me all about going to the sell-barn on Saturdays. They eat biscuits and gravy in the little restaurant named “The Feed Trough,” and they got brave enough to bid on a couple of cows this past weekend.

* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
Bible Journaling…
Not Bible Journaling but it is Bible related. I have found closest to the perfect Bible I think I might ever find…but it’s in India and I’m not sure how to buy it?
Around the House…
Veronica gave everything in the bathroom its first coat of paint. This week I’ll go over everything with the second coat, clean and put back on the hardware and we’ll buy a new light/fan combo for in there. I’m also going to trim out the mirrors which I think will look so pretty and give them some character.
In the Kitchen…
Veronica requested Baked Potato Soup while she was here and Leo requested Frito Chili Pie for his birthday dinner, which he wanted to have while his big sister was here ♥. Soccer season has officially started so I need to amp up my crockpot game. And I’ve been trying to eat at least one salad a day. The pre-made kits from Walmart are super easy. Yes, I know they cost more, but I eat them and they don’t go to waste so they actually cost less because I don’t waste any of it.

Self Care
Since we’re re-doing the bathroom with the bathtub in it I’ve been missing my hot, relaxing baths with Vetiver and Epsom Salt. This is such a hard season and it;s amazing what that one seemingly little luxury can do to boost my mood and spirits.
And after too many attempts to even count, I may have finally found a good lipstick color!! I don’t have it near me or I’d share the info. I did share on Instagram the day I bought it, from the parking lot because I was so excited!!
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)
The Littlest Way
Someone recently shared in our Online Bible Study Community how much they love using The Great Adventure Catholic Bible. In doing a little research, it seems like a great Bible full of useful information. It has a tendency to go out of stock so I quickly ordered one over the weekend. I’ll let you know what I think.
Our Domestic Church…
Some years don’t seem to feel so “Lenty” and other years…guess which one I’m in this year. What about you? Has that Lent feeling struck yet?
Saving Money…
I know I’m a broken record on this, but I cannot go into the store to buy groceries! Ever! I am such an impulse buyer or I forget that I need things or I buy things I’ve forgotten I already have. It’s bad. I admit it. Thanks be to God for Walmart Online Pickup –>>$10 off your first purchase linked above.

Jenny,
I will be praying for your health of body and heart. Going through grief is so hurtful, painful and sometimes it feels that you can’t breath. God does get you through it but you can only see that through time ( that is what I experienced). I almost laughed out loud when I read you ordered the Great Aventure Bible. It is AWESOME. I hope you find some peace in your heart today and know that I will be praying for you!!

Thanks for the prayers ♥ I need new friends who don’t recommend new Bibles to me, LOL!

Please let the group here what the dr says so we can all pray. Keeping you in prayers for your grief as well. My weekend brought some self reflection on my reactions and expectations of others. Not a pretty picture. Confession here I come! Hope you enjoy your Great Adventure Bible. I love mine! Back to grind of homeschooling today. We took last week off. It’s a good thing too. With Sarah being born and all the cooking I did for the kids, we didn’t have time for school. Have a blessed day!

Ugh! Sounds like you had a doozy of a weekend ♥ The second opinion went well. The doctor said, “Girl, I don’t even see what he (the referring doctor) saw.” First, gotta love a doctor who begins a sentence with “Girl…” and second, thanks be to God and the prayers offered for me.

I’m so glad you got a good report! My daughter in law needs prayers. Her hormones are raging and she has a lot of anxiety issues. Needless to say, we all suffer. She’s a beautiful, sweet young woman, and she’s a fantastic wife and mother. She just needs to relax and roll with the flow. I tend to react, which only gets my feelings hurt. I have to work on that. Still struggling to get my groove going for Lent. Chaos has ensued around here and doesn’t look to let up. I think God is telling me to let go of my perfectionism and scheduling as a penance for Lent. That’s really difficult for me. Thank you for all you do for our group! I look forward to our gathering every week. See you this evening,
