Welcome to my weekly Daybook post here at The Littlest Way. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating and cleaning and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Pondering…
I don’t want to talk to anyone because there’s too much to say.
Listening to…
Wondrous Love by Blue Highway
Reading…
My large print Bible
Divine Intimacy
This book begins on the First Sunday of Advent. I’ve started the last couple of years but never completed it…maybe this year. Here’s a link to a printable calendar and they now offer a Google calendar one. (It looks like the 2016-2017 one isn’t ready yet.)
Real Mercy: Mary, Forgiveness, and Trust
Bible Journaling…
If you’ve wanted to try Bible journaling but didn’t know where to start, the Illustrated Faith Shop at Dayspring is having a super sale. Some of their Bible journaling kits are only $15 through December 4th. These kits come with everything you need to get started: stamps, ink, washi tape, a sticker, pretty cut out you can glue. I’m not sure exactly what their devotionals contain so a good one to purchase would be the Lists by Faith kit. It contains journaling questions and prompts–not so much reflections.
Around the House…
I mentioned in this post, 10 Favorite Advent Traditions, that we put our tree up on the First Sunday with lights only–done. Except we added some strands of red beads and pinecones I bought at our neighbor’s garage sale this summer. Our Advent wreath is propped up on the fireplace mantle with my Fontanini Nativity set–sans the Baby Jesus. The empty crib for good deeds is on the bookshelf with purple lights illuminating it.
In the Kitchen…
We have venison! I cannot tell you how happy this makes our family. Also and equally important I found a tea I like. I’ve made this with a little cream and half a teaspoon of Pyure. I like it hot, I mean look forward to drinking it in the morning like it. I’ve also made it and poured it over ice–yummy!
Diffusing
First, is odd to wear an essential oil as a perfume? If it is please don’t tell me and grant me grace and ignore the fact if we see each other in real life. I’ve been dabbing Uplift on in the mornings. In my research Bergamot oil has been proven to help relieve stress, anxiety, and depression. Melissa essential oil is often used to reduce tense feelings, promote relaxation, and calm feelings of nervousness and a refreshing citrus aroma that can uplift your mood and help you feel upbeat and confident. And I’ve been diffusing Joy–Joy is a blissful blend of Bergamot, Geranium, Jasmine, Lemon, Mandarin, Palmarosa, Roman Chamomile, Rose, Rosewood, Sweet Orange and Ylang Ylang.
A Great Blog Post
An oldie but goodie–Balancing Life and Controlling our circumstances is not even Biblical!
“Expecting to be able to control life, children, husbands, friends, church, family is a road that leads to disappointment. We cannot make life behave by just trying harder or getting the right book, planner or instruction. Truth is, God wants us to rest, to leave our burdens in His hands, to learn a little more every day, how to walk by faith, love and become more patient, work hard and enjoy our days that He has given. As I thought about these things, I remembered an article I wrote some years ago, right in the middle of the “messiness of life” that I hope will encourage you.”
The Littlest Way
I’ve made a few behind the scenes changes. I took advantage of a Black Friday sale with Siteground for hosting my site. Making that switch will save me at least $25 for the upcoming year. I’m also going to transfer my domain names–I own the names to The Littlest Way .com, .net and .org–soon and save at least half of what I pay now. If you’re a blogger or thinking about blogging, I plan to start sending out a monthly blogging related newsletter. It will talk about products I use, books I read, etc. Hit “Reply” to this email and let me know you’d like to be added to my Blogging email list.
Our Domestic Church…
Advent started yesterday–Happy New Year! In the Church, the First Sunday of Advent is the beginning of the new liturgical year, so Happy New Year! November 30th is the Feast of St. Andrew, here is a printable St. Andrew Novena prayer bookmark, mobile and desktop screen saver.
Saving Money…
I mentioned above how I’m cutting some expenses here at The Littlest Way. Thankfully The Littlest Way, for the most part, is self-supporting. This means I’m able to write without taking money from my family. I’ve taken advantage of some internet deals over the weekend to save some money on Christmas. I also recently read an ebook on grocery shopping at Aldi, Slash Your Grocery Budget and Eat a Whole Foods Diet with ALDI. The woman who wrote it is a homeschooling momma of 7 and a blogger–sounds familiar! I’ve just skimmed it–so far so good. She also includes recipes and she has a section for Trim Healthy Mamas.

I enjoyed reading this…and was delighted that you have found your new tea. I had to google pyure as I had never heard of it! Good idea of the essential oils as perfume. My all time favourite essential oil – lavender – it can heal a thousand ills and truly raise the heart to God!

I have a friend who has said, when in doubt use lavender, lol! I’ve been using it at night before bed for myself and Chris.
