I didn’t have any notes or reflections or questions from the Old Testament reading today; sometimes this happens in my Catholic Bible Study. What’s so funny is that sometimes, as I read year to year, I might end up have notes from another year. Another thing, the more I read the Bible as a whole, the more connections I make So someday throughout the year, I might come across a verse or a passage that will bring me back to today’s Old Testament reading.

He’s just…
Matthew 13:55
People will try to discourage me, discount me, and even discredit me by labeling me as “just.” Ignore them.
They attacked me at a moment when I was weakest, but the Lord upheld me.
Psalm 18:18
The enemy didn’t come after Jesus in the desert the first day; he waited until our Lord had been out there for a while and was hungry and tired. That’s when he does his best work when I’m hungry–literally and for the Word, tired, distracted.
He led me to a place of safety; he rescued me because he delights in me.
Psalm 18:19
THE LORD DELIGHTS IN ME!!!
Lord, you have brought light to my life; my God you light up my darkness.
Psalm 18:28
+Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
(John 8:12)
+I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.
(John 12:46)
+This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
(1 John 1:5)
All the Lord’s promises…
Psalm 18:30
I have a Bible Study in my shop, “The Promises of God.” This study includes a daily Scripture Writing Plan plus reflection journaling questions.
God arms me with strength; he has made my way safe. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, leading me safely along the mountain heights.
Psalm 18:32-33
Gosh I don’t always feel strong. I’m so glad I don’t have to “feel” strong to be strong. My strength is God and not my own. And He makes me as surefooted as the deer! How cool is that image? He leads me safely–keep going, one foot in front of the other, watching only where I’m going and not looking back.
Your gentleness has made me great…
Psalm 18:35
Is this contrary to the last passage? Nope, not at all, strength is not the opposite of gentleness. They can cooperate together, and do in God’s perfection.
Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment.

+The best thing about Wisdom is Wisdom herself; good sense is more important than anything else.
(CEV)
+The beginning of wisdom, get wisdom, and with all thy possession purchase prudence.

Prudence–caution, carefulness, diligence, vigilance, watchfulness
+Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn from them.
