We are starting from scratch with this first Daybook post of 2021. Why you might be wondering. Well, because December 31, 2020 my external hard drive gave up its ghost…died…quit even trying to work. That external hard drive had ALL of my writings on it. When I say ALL…I literally mean, ALL. Everything I’ve written as a blogger and Online Bible Study Leader.
Some of these can be recovered via uploaded files to Facebook–at least until they kick me off for violating some arbitrary community standard, LOL. One of the things on that hard drive was the template I used for my weekly Daybook posts; weekly up until the last year? Anyway, I’m choosing to use this opportunity to start fresh and maybe make some changes to the Daybook template.

This is one of the One Year Bibles I read. I prefer the New Living Translation for my every day read. That one is sometimes hard to find though. I did find this one at a thrift store that I’m using right now. It does not have all the books of the Bible, the Apocrypha, so I’ll use a different Bible for those books.
And here’s a One Year Bible Revised Standard Version.
A Good Word
“When you have a spiritual assignment from heaven, trying without training is unthinkable.” And, “When you’re training, you don’t according to your feelings–you act according to your commitment.”
–Craig Groeschel
+1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and 1 Timothy 4:7 for reference
Online Bible Study This Week
This month we’re reading, writing, praying, and studying 1 & 2 Timothy in our Online Bible Study Community. This week on our weekly Zoom Call we’re digging deeper into 2 Timothy 2:24-26–A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.

Health & Wellness
I do want to remind you that the Young Living 10% off sale on the Desert Mist Diffuser Starter Kit ends today. You can read here why I started using Young Living Essential Oils. And you can read here why I think not only can Christians use essential oils but I think they SHOULD! Can Christians Use Essential Oils?
I did not fully appreciate essential oils until this year. I mean I knew they were good for me and powerful tools in my wellness tool-box. I’ve been using a roller bottle of Lavender, Helichrysum, and Frankincense since my Melanoma excision surgery almost two years ago. I use Frankincense for emotional support–this oil can stop an anxiety attack in its tracks! And my husband LOVES LOVES LOVES his roller bottle of Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint during allergy season. He wasn’t so sure, but I caught him when he was miserable and ready to try anything! He’s been able to happily make it through two allergy seasons now just using his roller bottle!!
After our fireplace exploded not only was I feeling the effects of the explosion and fire, I knew my body was run down and stressed and it felt like it was fighting off something. Because of the smoke, soot, and ash, I started applying Myrtle on my chest multiple times a day. I also used Oregano and Thyme which are known for their antibacterial and antifungal properties. And of course Thieves!!!
Trust me when I tell you, I wouldn’t know how or when or what to use were it not for our essential oil groups on Facebook. We have almost weekly education classes. We’ve learned about essential oils and the respiratory system, for focus and attention, emotional support, a favorite is always the hormonal support education we receive! Our essential oil family is led by a former Family Practice M.D. Her focus and the focus of our leadership is always on using our oils functionally, not just recreationally like a good smelling (although toxic) candle.
If you’ve been thinking about essential oils, now is a great time. In addition to the 10% off sale which ends today, 1.26.2021. I offer $25 in either Paypal cash or an Amazon gift card. If I can help someone get started with essential oils, I will, and right now I can offer $25.
