Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::lovely Sunday weather
::a walk in the field with Chris
::yummy Jalapeno Popper Chicken Soup for dinner
::enlightening conversation with Veronica the other day
Praying…
We’re spending the month of November considering prayer journals or war binders as some call them. I’m praying for the fruit that will come out of these posts and video and that the attacks or at the very least stumbling blocks are minimal. Making a commitment to focused and intentional prayer will be met with resistence from the enemy, just sayin.
Pondering…
“Most CEOs read 4-5 books per month and earn 350% more than the average American.” I’m woefully behind in my reading. What are you reading right now?
Listening to…
The dryer is tumbling and some child is blowing their nose loudly, allergy season here. Thankfully the temps are supposed to drop this week which should knock out some of these allergies.

Around the House…
Chris was around the house more this week which meant a busier house and a quieter blog. We took a load to Catholic Charities on Friday after we switched out summer/winter clothes and did a little tidying on the garage. For some reason, all of a sudden, everything needs to be dusted!
In the Kitchen…
Our dinners for the week: left-over Jalapeno Popper Chicken Soup, Tacos, Chicken Fried Double Rice, Power Skillet (same cookbook), Beans and Cornbread (same cookbook), and Crockpot Lasagna (same cookbook)
Self Care
The girls and I have been faithfully using L’BRI since July and still love and recommend it. Their acne is 100% better, not only cleared up, meaning no new breakouts, but their scarring has significantly decreased since they started using the Time Erase Serum. We’ve also started using the shampoo, conditioner, and hair mask. Veronica’s hair has had the most drastic improvement. It went from a frizzy, dry mess to soft, shiny ringlets. I would love to talk all things L’BRI with you–winter skin care, anti-aging, acne and hair. My website is www.lbri.com/insideout if you’d like to poke around at some of the products and I’m keeping an open show while friends are Christmas shopping, the number is #44838.

Our Domestic Church…
Advent will be here before we know it. I want to share two lovely Advent devotionals with you. The first is my own and free for subscribers, Daily Advent Devotional for Women. The second is from a woman very dear to me, Elizabeth Foss. She has gathered some beautful souls to put together an Advent devotional, Rooted in Hope. You can’t go wrong with either one and may even decide to use both. Mine is shorter and follows the reading of the Jesse Tree, maybe a great morning book. Elizabeth’s is longer and really digs deep into the spiritual discipline of Lectio Divina, perfect for an afternoon recharge.
Saving Money…
My little Walmart now offers online grocery shopping and pick-up! I shopped Saturday night and picked up on our way home from church Sunday. So far, totaly game changer! My order was exactly right, I spent less money because I wasn’t impulse buying a blessed thing, and I saved myself time, Oh precious time! See if your Walmart offers it and use my referral code for $10 off.

Ha yes. Why would I want to carry the burden of other’s perceptions when I already struggle with my own? I still don’t like when people don’t like me, but that’s normal I think. If I’ve don’t something to deserve it, I’d want to know. If not, well then it’s easier to get over and get on with life.
And Chicken Fried Double Rice is one of my favorite new recipes! I actually reduce the brown rice by more than half because I prefer the lightness of the cauliflower rice. I cannot detect the flavor of cauliflower at all!
Lastly, I love Walmart Grocery and I’m reading a few things, but what’s making the biggest impression on me is The Four Last Things ~ Death Judgement Hell Heaven.

I’m glad to hear you love the recipe, it’s new to us. Um, I’m sure a book on the 4 last things is having quite the impact.

What do you think of the Mothering With Courage Book? The title, at least, sounds like it was written just for me. 😉
Jenny says
I’ve just gotten started so I don’t have an opinion yet.

Hi Jenny:
the conversation you had with your daughter, I wish I had the courage to have that conversation with some people. If someone doesn’t like me, I really don’t care, and we know when that is happening. I have prayed many times for God to bring the people that are supposed to be part of my life to me and he has answered that prayer and I am thankful, anyone extra in my life is a gift that I am also thankful for,
I think the fact that I am Pro Life is a big game changer for how some people see me, and then I mention that I am Catholic and is like there is this wall that comes up. Well, this is who I am , this is what I believe and I know my God is okay with that too.
Thank you for your words Jenny, I am praying for you and your family.

You know, it’s hard. I am so thankful God has blessed me with a man who has taught me this is ok. People can make the choice to not like me and I can make the choice to not live under the burden of it. There’s a freedom on our end but a frustration on their end because they will try to convince us we are unkind or uncharitable. Again, not my burden to carry.
